After working for 3 different breweries and 20 years in the brewing business, Lee decided he could create his own brewery. While Lee has been successful creating his own brewery in Pontiac, what he may not be aware of is that he has also created an outstanding spot for a great night out. Fillmore 13 is conveniently located across the street from the Flagstar Strand Theater and the Crofoot, and a quick walk down Saginaw from Elektricity and Vogue night clubs. Saginaw must have always had a place in Lee’s heart, as some of the places he and his wife used to frequent (JDs Key Club, Industry and Bo’s Brewery) have been gone a while but Lee still decided to establish his brewery here. Lee chose to be in Pontiac, because after his favorite businesses went out, he saw the opportunity to bring the community back together with his business.
Lee says, “From the first step people take when they walk in the door, I want people to feel like ‘Wow I want to have a beer here’! Making great tasting unique beer is what drives Lee’s passion for Filmore 13.
I love walking into Fillmore 13, I always see a friendly, familiar face and I am always greeted with a warm smile. As a patron who rarely drinks, I have to admit that I’ve snuck in a couple of the tasting samples on a lunch break and really enjoyed a lot of unique flavors on their beer menu.
